Colossians   Chp. 4 Vs. 1–18

This chapter is the ending of Paul’s letter to these people. He sends greetings to people and encourages them to stay true to God.

5863 Verse 1 How were masters to act toward their servants? ___________

5864. Verse 2 Paul tells them to continue in _________________. They were to be watchful and to do it with _________________________.

5865. Verse 3 He wants them to pray for __________. So that God would open

“doors” (opportunity) to speak to people and tell them about Jesus.

He speaks of the “mystery of Christ” meaning that Jesus Christ is for Gentiles, too, not just for Jews.

Paul says this is the reason he is in “bonds” —jail/prison—for preaching Jesus.

Verse 4 Paul wants God to help him speak to them in words that make “manifest” or “clear and so they can understand.

5866. Verse 5 Paul tells the believers to “walk in w______________”.

He tells them to “redeem the time”—what do you think this means? _____________________________________________________________

5867. Verse 6. He tells them—Let your _____________ be with grace. (meaning with kindness and respect)

He says “seasoned with salt”—meaning —in the conversation try to speak of Jesus or words of encouragement, or words of faith.

Do this so you will know how to answer everyone.

Verse 7 Paul says that a man named Tychicus will tell them how Paul is doing in prison.

Verse 8 Paul said he was sending this man so he could see how they were doing and tell Paul.

5868. Verse 9 Who is the other man that is coming to them? _______________

5869. Verse 10 Aristarchus is in p_________ with him. He sends greetings.

And also, Barnabas’ cousin, Mark. Also, a man they call Justus. These are Jewish men who are co-workers with Paul.

5870. Epaphras, from your city—sends greetings. He always p___________

for you. He asks God to make you _______________ and ____________in the will of God.

He has prayed much for you and for believers in 2 other cities.

Verse 14 Luke (Luke is a Doctor—he wrote the book of Luke in the New Testament) sends his greetings, and Demas.

Give my greetings to our Christian brothers at Laodicea and to a woman named Nympha and to those in her home.

After you have read this letter—give it to the believers in Laodicea.

And read the letter I wrote to them. And tell Achippus to do the work the Lord gave you to do.

(Remember Paul’s eyes gave him much trouble and writing and reading was hard for him to do.)
