John     Chp. 7      Vs. 23 -31

Verse 23 Jesus said to them, if you circumcise the baby boys on the Sabbath day—-so that you don’t break the law of M__________—–why are you angry with me—–because I have made a man “whole”–well—-on the Sabbath?

Vs. 24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

(Jesus is telling them to think deeper. Not to just see that “work” was done on the Sabbath, but —-like them—– keeping Moses’ law about circumcision on the Sabbath—–when there is a deeper reason for the “work”—-then that is more important than “not working on the Sabbath”.)

Vs. 25 Then some of the people asked—Is this the man they are trying to k________?

Vs. 26 He speaks out boldly —without fear—and they do nothing to stop him. Do the leaders know this is the Christ (Messiah—promised One to come)?

Vs. 27 We know who this man is. Yet when the Christ-Messiah comes no man will know who he is.

(There was a belief among the Jews that no one would know where the Messiah came from. But these people knew that Jesus was from the Galilee area and from the village of N__________________.)

Vs.28 Jesus said—You know me and you know where I come from.

I am not come because of my own decision or plan. He that sent me is true—-you do not know him.

Vs. 29 I know him. I am from him. He sent me.

Vs. 30 They tried to take him, but no one could put hands on him.
Because it was not his time yet to be taken.

(It seems that some of the people realized that Jesus was saying that he came from God. This they were not ready to believe.)

Vs. 31 Some of the people said—-When Christ/Messiah comes —-will he do more ____________________ than this man?
