Philippians Chp. 2 Vs. 1-30
5773. Vs. 1, 2 We share the same Spirit of the Lord—- and that brings fellowship with those who believe the same.
Vs.3 Do not do anything through “vainglory”—-trying to get attention on yourself. But in love—-think of others as b________________ than y__________________.
5774. Vs. 4 Do not be interested in only your own things—- but be interested in the things of others.
Vs. 5 Let this mind be in you—-which was also in Christ Jesus—who being in the form of G_______—–did not think it was “robbery—robbing” to be e___________ with God.
5775. He made himself of no r_________________. (He did not do things to become famous or to be known.)
He took upon himself the form (shape) of a s________________.
He was made in the likeness of m____________.
5776. Being in the fashion (shape) of a man—-he h______________ himself (was humble—not proud).
He was obedient (he obeyed) (God’s will) until his d____________ on the cross.
5777. So God exalted him (lifted him up, gave him glory). God gave him a n_____________ which is above every name.
Vs. 10 At the name of Jesus—-every k___________ should bow—-all the things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth.
Vs. 11 And every tongue should c______________ (say, admit)—-that Jesus Christ is L_________, —–to the glory of God the Father.
(Think about all the kings and leaders of the world that have been so proud and powerful—–they will one day kneel before Christ and say that He is Lord.
Think of all the people who have cursed God and said bad things about him—-all the people who have ignored God—–all the people who have said there is no God—–they will all some day kneel and say Christ is Lord.)
5778. Vs. 12 So my loved people—-you have always o______________ (the teachings I gave you about walking with God in His ways) —-not only when I am with you,—- but now also when I can not be with you.
Work out your own s___________________ with fear and trembling. (Meaning—each person needs to take care of his own life –to see that he obeys Christ’s teachings—–and follows God‘s will for him.)
5779. Vs. 13 It is God—who works in you, —-both to do his will in you —–and to do his good pleasure in you.
Vs. 14 Do all things without complaining and grumbling or arguing.
Vs. 15 So that you may be without blame—not hurting or harming others.
You will be the “sons of God” with no one to say bad about you.
You live in a world that is sinful—-you will s____________
as l_________________ in the world.
5780. Vs. 16 Paul continues to encourage the believers.
He told them: Hold tight to the word of life that I taught you.
So, that when Paul sees Christ —-his work with them will not have been for nothing —-but was successful.
5781. Paul said: If I am offered up as a s________________ (If I die for preaching—Paul is in prison for preaching about Jesus.)
I will be happy about it and you should be happy with me.
5782. Vs. 19 I hope to send T_______________ to you soon— so I can know how things are with you.
Vs. 20 I have no other person like him—that I can send to you—who will truly care about how you are doing.
Other men seem to only care about themselves.
But you know Timothy—he is like a son to me—-he has served faithfully with me.
When I see how things are with me—-then I hope to send him soon.
Vs. 24 But I hope and trust the Lord that I can come myself to see you.
5783. Vs. 25 While I am waiting to send Timothy—-I will send E________________. He has been like a true brother and has worked with me.
He was your messenger (one you sent to speak to me)—and he helped me with things I needed.
Now, I am sending him back home again. He has been wanting to see you. He was upset that you heard he was sick.
He was very sick. He almost died. But God had mercy on him and on me. So I did not have to bear the sorrow of his death.
Vs. So I send him back to you. I know you will be happy to see him.
Welcome him with Christian love and give him honor. He risked his life for the work of Christ. He was near to dying —while he was trying to help me—because you were far away.
