5739. Vs. 1 ____________________ obey your parents in the Lord; for this is right.

5742. Vs. 4 Fathers do not p____________________ (speak or do something in a way that makes anger) — your children to wrath (anger).

Teach them —nurture them—-(teach gently like a loving mother) —-and admonition ( giving advice) of the Lord.

5743. Vs. 5-7 Servants—-be ________________ to your masters. Serve them and work for them as though you were working for Christ.

Do not do it please men. But do it as unto C___________ from your heart.

5744. Vs. 8 Remember—that whatever good thing man does—he will received the same from the Lord—–whether he is a f__________ man or a slave in b_____________.
5745. Vs. 9 You masters—-do the same good to them. Do not t__________________ (say you will punish them or do mean things to them if they don’t do what you say).

So that you will be able to stand against Satan and temptation in the days full of evil—-

and having done all we can to protect ourselves—-let us stand true and firm—not being defeated and taken down—-not giving in to sin or——- to be tricked by Satan.

5750. Vs. 14 (Paul is using words of armor for battle)—–

Let us stand having our loins—body part—on the back on each side of the backbone–near the hips.——having this part protected with “t____________”.

Paul is saying—-We need to know the truth. You can not obey what God wants—-if you do not know what the Bible says.

God tells us in the Bible what he wants us to do and not do. We have to read it and know it —-so we can obey and do it.

5751. Vs. 14 Having the “breastplate” of r_____________.

We need Christ’s righteousness so we can stand against Satan.

5752. Vs. 15 Your feet shod (covered) with the preparation of the g___________________. (We need to know the Bible so we can teach others.

The “gospel“ usually means salvation —-from the punishment of sin —because of Jesus paying the punishment for us on the cross.)

5753 Vs. 16 We need to take the “shield”—the thing soldiers hold in front of them—to keep arrows from hitting them.

The “shield” of “f_____________”.
(Meaning—faith will stop the arrows (darts) of doubt, of being discouraged, being tempted—-from hurting us.)

The darts of fire from the wicked one—-the things Satan uses to get us to doubt God, gets us to sin, get us to become discouraged, etc.

5754. Vs. 17 We need the “helmet” —-what a soldier wears on his _________________.

We need salvation from sin. Temptation starts in the mind with our thinking. Then we do and act on what we were thinking.

We need to have our minds protected. We need to guard our thoughts.

We need to let some thoughts in.
We need to stop other kinds of thoughts—do not let them continue in your mind.

5755. Vs. 17 We need the “s___________” of the s___________.

The “sword” of the spirit is the w__________ of G______ (the Bible).

When Jesus was tempted of Satan—after Jesus was baptized—-Jesus spoke Old Testament Bible verses to Satan.

God’s word—has power. God’s word protects us from Satan’s temptations.

God’s word protects us from being discouraged.

God’s word protects us from doubt and fear.

5756. Vs. 18 P________________ always—with supplication (asking)—-in the spirit.

Watch–other “saints”—Christians—-who need prayer—and pray for them.

Vs. 19 And pray for me (Paul)—so that I can preach and teach others–and not be afraid—so I can say the things I need to say.

5757. Vs. 20 Paul said he was an “a_________________ in bonds”.
An ambassador is someone who speaks to others —for someone else. Paul spoke to others about Jesus.

He was in “bonds”—-because he wrote this letter while he was a prisoner in Rome.

I want you to know how I am doing. My brother in Christ, Tychicus will tell you about me when he sees you.

Vs. 22 I have sent him to you so you would know how I am doing.

Vs. 23 Peace be to you—-and love in the faith, from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Vs. 24 Grace be with all them who love the Lord in truth.
