Galatians Chp 3 Vs. 14-29
5592. Vs. 14 The blessing of Abraham—-came on the ____________________ through _______________ ______________________, that we might (may) receive the promise of the Spirit through _________________.
5593. Paul uses an example of how in this world—if a man’s will or “covenant” is confirmed and said to be legal—then it stands and can not be ignored or changed.
And so it is with God’s promise to Abraham—-that through “his seed”—-God would bless many nations.
“His seed” meant—Abraham’s sperm —-that creates a child.
And it meant—here—a future “child”—-one special one—that would come from Abraham’s family line—-meaning Jesus.
Vs. 16 Paul explains that God did not use the word “seeds”—because Abraham had other children after Isaac—because Abraham married again after Sarah.
Those children—with the second wife— were not part of the “promise” God gave to Abraham.
Isaac was the son of promise —and through Isaac’s family line— God would send the “blessing”.
5594. Vs. 17 This promise “covenant”—which God made—-could not be broken.
Moses’ laws were given ____________________ (How many? ) years later.
5595. Vs. 18 The blessings —God promised—could not be —if a person obeyed the laws of Moses——
—-because— God gave this promise to Abraham before the laws were given— the promise did not have anything to do with keeping the Old Testament laws.
Vs. 19—-Why was the law given? Because of the people’s_________________________. (It showed them—that they were guilty of sin.
The law was for the people —until the time came—-for the “seed”
–special person—Jesus—to come—to be born.
Moses was God’s mediator (a person who goes between 2 people to interpret for them)—and angels gave the law to Moses—and Moses gave the law to the people.
Vs.20 Is the law against the promises of God? No.
If a law could have been given—-that would have given life—–then righteousness would have come by doing the law.
( The problem was—human sinful nature could not keep the law—they kept failing.)
5596. Vs. 22 The scripture says—all–everyone—under sin—-that this promise should be given to them—-the b___________________
should come by the f______________ in ______________ _____________ .
