Prophecy #5
Jesus would be born in Bethlehem. Micah 5:2-5
“But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, though you are small among the clans (families) of Judah, out of you will come
for me one who will be ruler over Israel,……”
Luke 2:1- “And it came to pass—-Joseph —-went unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem—-with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. She brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger…”
“…the angel said unto them (shepherds) “For unto you —is born—this day—in the city of David—a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.”
800 years Before Christ was born—Isaiah said that he would be born to a virgin. Micah said he would be born in Bethlehem.
That prophecy came true.

Prophecy #6
Matthew 2:16-18 Tells of how Herod tried to kill the baby Jesus. He ordered that all boy babies —2 years old and under should be killed. This was a terrible sorrow for hundreds of mothers and families.
Matthew recalls a verse in Jeremiah 31:15—where it speaks of the sorrow of Rama for all her children. Ramah was the town where Samuel lived.

Prophecy #7
Jesus would be rejected by his brothers.
Psalms 69:8 “I am a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my own mother’s sons….”
John 7:3-5 Jesus’ brothers said to him, “You ought to (should) leave here—-so that your disciples may see the miracles you do—–For neither did his brethren believe in him.”

Prophecy #8
Rulers would be against him.
Psalms 2:1-2 “Why do the nations conspire (plan) and the peoples plot (plan) in vain (have no success)?
The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against the Anointed One.”
Matthew 12:14 “But the Pharisees (Jewish church leaders)
went out, and held council (meeting) against him, how they might destroy (kill) him.”
Matthew 26:3-5 The priests, scribes, elders all met together “that they might take Jesus…and kill him.”
Matthew 26:47 Judas….”from the chief priests and elders of the people”
Also, Luke 23:11-12
Prophecy #9
Jesus comes to Jerusalem riding on a donkey.
Zechariah 9:9 “…..thy king cometh unto thee, he is just, and having salvation; lowly (humble), riding on an ass (donkey)
and upon a colt the foal of an ass.”
Mark 11:7 “And they brought the colt to Jesus,….and he sat upon him.——they went before him—-cried, saying, ‘Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord, blessed be the kingdom of our father David…”

Prophecy #10
Someone would announce that Jesus was coming.
Isaiah 40:3 “The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord’.”
Matthew 3:1-3 “……John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, and saying, ‘Repent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand’.
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias (Isaiah)
Saying, ‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord……”

Prophecy #11
The Spirit of the Lord would be upon him.
Isaiah 11:1-2 “And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots; and the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him…….”
Isaiah 61:1-2 “The spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord……”
Luke 4:18 Jesus came to Nazareth—to the synagogue (Jewish church) there. He stood to read from the book of Isaiah. Jesus read these same verses in Isaiah 61. When he finished reading, he said—”This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”
Matthew 3:16 “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water; and lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him; and lo a voice from heaven saying, ‘This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.’”

Prophecy #12
The Lord would come and dwell (live) in the midst of them.
Zechariah 2:10 “ I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord.”
John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father…”
