Steps of Faith for the Deaf

Hello,

“The eyes of the Lord are on those who fear (respect, honor) Him,
On those whose hope is in his unfailing love.

We will wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.”
Psalms 33: 18, 20

—————————————————————————

The Lord watches over those who are looking to Him to help them.
He watches over those who are hoping in His love and care.

We need to wait for the Lord to help us. Let us not run ahead of the Lord—and try to make things happen.

Sometimes—the Holy Spirit does speak to us—-to step out in faith—to do something—-even though—-we can not see how things are going to be.

Most of the time—-we pray—-but then we try to make things happen.

We might try to talk someone into to doing something for us.

We might try to talk our way into a deal.

When we pray and ask God to do something for us——or to give us something——or to help us in some way—–we do not wait to see what God is going to do. We go on our own and try to make it happen.

When we ask God to help us—–we need to wait—–to see what He will do.

We need to wait and see what answer he brings us. We need to see what “door” opens ——and we have an “open way”—– then go ahead.

God is watching out for those who love Him—–and those who are walking with Him.

He will guide us and help us—–with each problem we have. He will show us the best way for our need to be filled.

It may take more time—–and we do not like to wait.
We want things to happen now. God’s answer may come in a different way—-than we thought. God’s answer may be a different answer than we thought.

Be open to look for God’s answer—-even if it is different than you thought it would be.

God loves us—-and wants the best for us. He knows what will work the best for us.

Some times we think we want something,—-but God knows things that we can not see or understand.

He knows that if we got that thing—-it would not be good for us,—–so He gives us something else. He leads us down a different path.

Trust the Lord to do what is best for you. After—-you will see—-that it was a good thing.

I taught in public school. Each year we were assigned a room to teach in.

Sometimes we stayed in the same room—other times we were assigned a different room.

Teachers who were there longer, often we allowed a choice of rooms.
I remember wanting very much to be given a certain room.
I was having trouble with my knees and walking long hallways to the office, the gym, the lunch room, etc. were getting difficult.

There was one room that was closer to all those things than the one I was in. I prayed that I would get that room.

I had asked for that room. I did not get it. I was very disappointed and unhappy.

I was even grumpy with the Lord. I thought that was a easy simple thing that He could do. Why didn’t He do it for me?

I tried talking to the principal—to let me have that room—but they had their reasons to give it to someone else.

As the year went along, I saw that the teacher given that room became sick—she had throat problems —-such that she almost lost her voice. Which would be very bad for a teacher.

A couple of years passed, and I noticed that each one who was given that room —-got sick.

Finally, a teacher —-whose husband was on the school board, persuaded the board to check that room and see what was the problem.
That room had problems in the ceiling that made the air in that room bad—-and the teachers got sick. I did not hear about whether the children were getting sick. But I knew about the teachers.

God knew that room had problems. He did not answer my prayer because He was saving me from getting sick.

We need to trust the leading of the Lord. And sometimes our “disappointments” are good for us. God is saving us from something.

God is watching over you—-in love—–and He will do a good job.

Good-bye for now. I’ll write again.                                 Sincerely, Joyce Webb
