I Corinthians       Chp 13     Vs 1-13

This is often called “the love chapter”.

5349. Verse 1 Paul said—If I speak with the t____________ of men and angels—

(Paul could be talking about speaking in tongues under the power of the Holy Spirit–in some of the churches this gift of the spirit is talked about in Chp. 12—-was being used in a way that was not correct. Some were being proud that they spoke in tongues. Some were not being wise and proper about using this gift.)

5350. Paul continues—yet, if I do not have l________—I am like a cymbal—(a loud noise).

Paul is saying—speaking in tongues —-with out showing love and respect and proper use of it—it is just a noise.

5351. Verse 2 If I have the gift of p_____________,
If I understand all m_______________,
If I have all k_______________
If I have all f_________—-so that I could remove mountains.

But if I do not have ___________ then all that is empty and useless.

(Having gifts of the spirit—should make us more like God—-but—if we are proud, or envy others, or think we are better than others—and have not love for others—all those spiritual gifts do no good.

People would see our lack of love and caring. That would be more important to them—than the spiritual gifts.

5352. Verse 3 Paul said—If I give all my ______________ to feed the _____________.
Or give my ______________ to be _________________
But I do not have ______________—-it does not help anyone.

5353. Verse 4. ____________ suffers long and is ___________.
Love does not e___________ what others have.
Love does not puff itself up and be proud.

5354. Verse 5 Love does not behave in a way that is
____________________ (not right or proper or unkind)

Love does not seek (look for) its own way.
Love is not easily p_________________ (made angry)
Love does not think ______________.

5355. Verse 6 Love does not rejoice or be happy about seeing
________________ (wicked, evil, sin)

Love rejoices in ________________.

5356. Verse 7. Love ___________________ all things.
Love has ____________________ for all things.
Love _____________________ (is patient with, hangs onto, stays with) all things.

5357. Verse 8. Love never ___________________.

5360. Verse 12 Now—we see things like we are looking through a dark g______________, but someday—- we will see things clearly– as face to face.
