Acts Chapter 21 Vs. 16-40

4529. Paul and a few other men have come to Jerusalem. An older man invited Paul and the others to stay with him.

Vs. 17 The brethren (other believers) were happy to see Paul.

Vs. 18 The next day Paul went to see the “elders” —the leaders of the believers in Jerusalem.
One man is named—__________________. (This man is Jesus’ brother. He wrote a book in the New Testament. Before Jesus’ resurrection—his brothers did not believe he was God’s son.

I have often wondered about that—because they must have heard how Jesus came to be born and his birth in Bethlehem, the angels, the wisemen’s visit. Etc. They saw his miracles. Yet they still did not believe—-not until he died and came alive again.)

4530. Vs. 19 After Paul greeted everyone, he began to tell them about all the things on his trip. He talked about his preaching to the G______________________ people.

4531. Vs. 20 The group at Jerusalem told Paul of all the
J____________________ people who now had become believers.

4532. Vs. 21,22 Many of the Jews were now believers in Jesus—there became a question about the law of Moses. The question now was—do the new believers have to be c____________________________ as Moses law says.

Some were saying—they did not need to obey the laws of Moses any more—-others said that they must obey them. This became a serious argument. Now that Paul had come—they wanted to know what he thought about it.

4533. Vs. 23-24 The group at Jerusalem wanted Paul to show the new believers that he believed in keeping Moses’ laws. They wanted Paul to take the Nazarite vow. This vow (promise) was to show a person’s devotion to God. It was done for a certain amount of time.
