4229. The next morning, Herod (ruler/king) called for Peter to come before him. Did he find Peter? _________
Herod left Jerusalem and went to the town of C___________.
4230. Verses 20-23 Herod was dressed in his fancy robes.
He gave a speech to the people. The people wanted to please him —so they began to say words of great praise. What did they say about him? _________________________________________

Herod accepted these words as though they were true and that he deserved them. God was not pleased. What happened to Herod?

4231. Barnabas took Saul and the two of them traveled to preach.
They also took a young man named __________________.
Chapter 13 Verse 1
4232. A group of believers had begun a church in the city of
A___________________. As the believers were praying, the Holy Spirit spoke to them that they were to pray over two men and send them out to preach. Who were the two men?

4234. Vs 5 says that the young man John Mark also was with them.
Vs 7 A leader of that area called for Barnabas and Saul to come and tell him about Jesus.
There was a man who tried to stop them. Verse 8 His name was
______________________ he was a sorcerer. (witchcraft, he did “spells” “curses” “cures” for people by praying to spirits—not God) He did not want the leader of the area to hear about Jesus.
(Probably this man had an evil spirit in him and the evil spirit did not want the leader to hear about Jesus.)
4235. Vs. 9 This is the first verse where we see that Saul is now calling himself P____________.
From now on he will use this name.
Vs. 10, 11 The Holy Spirit speaks through Paul and he tells the sorcerer—that he is a child of the _________________. That he is an enemy of righteousness.
So the Lord would make him b_____________ for a “season” (for a time). Immediately, the man could not see.
