St. John 3:17-36

3486. Vs.17- God did note send his son into the world to _________________________ (blame) the world. He sent his son into the world so the world could be _________________.

3487. Vs. 18 The person who believes on Jesus —-is not __________________________ (blamed).

But the person who does not believe is ________________________ already. Because he has not believed in Jesus.

(Only in Jesus, is there salvation from sin. Only Jesus–because he is the one who died on the cross and paid our death punishment for us. No other person did that.

If we do not accept that Jesus died in our place—-then we will have die—– and pay for our own sin and death punishment—we will have to die forever in hell.

So if we do not believe in Jesus—-we have no other person—who can take away our sin—-because no other person died and took our punishment for us.)

3488. Vs. 19 Men loved ___________________ rather than light because what they did was __________________.

(Why do you think drinking bars, saloons, are always dark?

Why are many dance places dark?

Are people in these places doing things that they don’t want other people to see? )

3489. Vs. 20, 21 A person who is doing evil and wrong does not want to come to the l_______________ because he does not want to hear that the things he is doing is evil.

A person who is living right and doing good—does not care if the light shines on him.

3490. Vs. 22-34

Jesus came to a place that was near where John the Baptist was baptizing people.

Jesus’ disciples were baptizing people also—nearby. See John chp. 4 verse1,2

Jesus was not baptizing —his disciples were.

One man came to John to report what Jesus’ disciples were doing.

It seems this man did not think that they should be baptizing people.

3491. Verse 28 John the Baptist said, I am not the ______________, I was sent before him.

3492. Verse 30 John said He (Jesus) must __________________ but I must ______________________.

In other words, Jesus must get more and more attention. And John must get less and less attention.

Jesus is the main one, not John.

God has not limited his spirit in Jesus. In other words, the Spirit of God was fully in Jesus, Jesus was full of God’s spirit.
