Chapter 10
Verses 1- 11 Read the Bible verses.
Another angel came down from heaven in a cloud. He had a rainbow on his head. His face was like the sun. His feet were like fire. He had a book in his hand.
He put one foot on the sea and the other foot on the earth. His voice was like thunder.
The angel makes an oath. That means he makes a declaration (sentence) by a sacred (holy) person, that what he is about to say is truth.
John started to write what he said, but he was told to stop.
Since John was not allowed to write what the angel said, we know that there are things that will happen that of which we have not been told.
The angel lifted his right hand to heaven and said, “There is no more waiting–the mystery of God is finished–the mystery that was given to the prophets”
The “mystery” that is about to be finished is probably the words of prophecy about the end times that God gave to the Old Testament prophets.
Those prophecies were a mystery for many thousands of years, but now they will be no longer a mystery. Those things will soon happen.
John is told to eat the book that is in the angel’s hand. He eats it. It tastes sweet–but it is bitter in his stomach.
