I Thessalonians Chp. 1 Vs. 1-10

Paul is writing this letter to the believers in Thessalonica

Thessalonica was at the northern corner of Greece on the coast of the Aagean Sea. It was the capital city and a major port of a Roman controlled area of Macedonia.

It had a highway that went to Rome.

It was a busy city with people from many places coming into the harbor on ships. Many kinds of things were brought in to sell.

Today the city is called Thessaloniki. It is the second largest city in Greece.

When Paul went there to preach—-many people there did not want Paul there to preach about Jesus. Paul left the city and later wrote letters to the believers to encourage them.
