Philippians Chp. 3      Vs. 1-21

5784. Paul said: Finally, “brothers” (in Christ)—________________ (be happy, praise) in the Lord.

Paul said—I say this to you over and over.

5785. Beware (be careful, watch out for) “dogs”—meaning those who tell you that you must be circumcised in order to please God.

We worship God in s___________________.
We do put our confidence or trust in what is done in the flesh.

5786. Vs. 4, 5 I could trust in the flesh. I was circumcised on the 8th day as a Jewish baby. I am of the tribe of
________________________. I am a Hebrew through and through. I was a Jewish leader—a P__________________.

5787. Vs. 6 I p___________________ (hurt them, made trouble for them) ——the church of believers in Jesus.

I was b________________—without fault or failing—-about keeping the Old Testament laws and the Jewish laws.

Vs.7 Those things I once was proud of—-I now count as “loss” or nothing—for I now served Jesus Christ.

5788. Vs. 8 All that knowledge and law keeping—-I now count as nothing—-because I now have knowledge of Christ—He is my L___________.

I have s____________________ the loss of all things—-but I think of them as “dung” (manure, poop, garbage)–I think of them as nothing——so that I may win ______________.

5789. Vs. 9 I want to be found in Christ—–not having my own r____________________ (which is because of obeying the law)—-but the righteousness that is given by God because of f_______________ in Christ.

5790. Vs. 10 I want to know Him, and I want to know the power that made him rise up from the dead.
I want to share in the fellowship of s________________ as he suffered—-sharing in his death.

Vs. 11 So that I may have the hope of resurrection for myself.

I follow Christ’s teachings so that —-day after day—-I can be more like Christ.

5792 .Vs. 13 I do not think I have reached being perfect—-but this one thing I do—–

I f________________ the things which have been done in the past. They are behind me.

I press forward to those things which are before me.

(This verse is an important verse. We have to “forget” those things in our past. Hanging on to them in our memory—just keeps us “tied” to our past mistakes and sins.

We have to move on. God has forgiven them. We need to put all those “memories” into God’s hands—let Him keep them. They will not help us—they will keep us “down”.

Whenever they come into your mind—give them over to God again. Do not let them continue in your mind.)

5793. Vs.14 I go forward to the p_____________ that is given to those who obey the high calling of Jesus Christ.

Vs. 15 For those who want to be “perfect” in Christ—-do the same as I.

If you think differently, may God show this truth to you as he has shown it to me.

Vs. 16 Let us live and walk with God in the ways we already know are true and right.

Vs. 17 Follow Christ—together, with me. Give attention to those who obey Christ —-just as you have me —and my helpers —-for an example.

Vs. 18,19 There are many—-as I have told you before—-and it brings tears to my eyes——people who are enemies of the cross—they are interested in earthly things. They are proud of their shameful ways. They are interested in making money and having a nice life here on earth.

Vs. 20 The way we walk and talk—- is to show the way to heaven. From heaven we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

5794. Vs. 21 He is the one who can change our weak body into a g________________ body. Using this same mighty power—he will win over everything.
