Galatians Chp 3 Vs. 1-13

Verse 1 Paul is still trying to show the believers at Galatia—-that the Jewish preachers—who have recently come to preach to them—-and told them they need to obey some of the Old Testament Laws—were not right–what they preached—was wrong.

The one law they talked about mostly—was that the men had to be circumcised.
Circumcision is the cutting away of the foreskin on a man’s penis.

(To read why circumcision was such an important thing—read my writings under Bible Studies —– What is this thing about Circumcision that is so important to the Jewish people.)

5582. Verse 2 Paul asks them a question: “Who has bewitched you?
Meaning–like how a witch might trick someone.

Then he asks—Did you receive the s____________ (meaning the Holy Spirit) by obeying the l_________? Or did you receive the
Holy Spirit by f__________________>

What do you think they said as an answer? ______________________________________________________

5583. Verse 3 Paul asks—If you began the Christian life by the s_______________—-do you now think that you can be made perfect (or grow spiritually) by works of the flesh—meaning obeying the Old Testament laws.

5584. Verse 5 The person who ministered to you in the Spirit—and taught you about the Spirit—-and did miracles by the Spirit’s power—-Did he do it by the works of the _______________?
Or did he do it by the hearing of ________________?

5585. Verse 6 It was because Abraham b________________ God by f_______________—-that God counted it as righteousness.
(Not because of the “works” of the flesh.)

5586. Verse 7 Those who have “faith” like Abraham—they are the
“c___________________ of Abraham, too.”

(Meaning: If people have the same faith in God that Abraham did—-then they are equal in faith—the same as those who are born Jewish and have faith in God.)

5587. Verse 8 Long ago, the scripture (writings of the Bible) said that by the preaching of the gospel to the heathen–(those who do not worship God/and may worship idols or other things)—-they
(those heathen people— would be justified through f____________.

God had said to Abraham —That in thee (Abraham)—all nations will be blessed.
(Meaning—by Abraham’s family—- all nations of the world all the world would be blessed.

(That happened—because Jesus came to earth through Abraham’s
family group. Jesus became the savior of all people of the world.
All people of the world—now have a savoir to save them from the death punishment of their sins.)

5588. Verse 9 So, people of f_____________ are blessed because of Abraham’s faithfulness.

Verse 10 The people who are under the “law”—meaning Old Testament laws—are under a curse.

It is written—Cursed is everyone that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law.—to do them.

(The reason they are “cursed”—(evil will come on them)—is because—no one was able to fully obey –or perfectly obey—all the Old Testament laws—-they all failed in some way to do all that the law said. No one could succeed to keep the laws perfectly.

5589. Verse 11 No man then can be justified—made just—made right-or righteous—before God by keeping the law—-they can only be made “right—or righteous” by f______________.

5590. Verse 12 The l__________ is not by f____________.

(The law—was a person working hard to obey it—in his own human strength—he always failed.)

5591. Verse 13 C_________________ has redeemed (means -paid for us)—he paid the price of the curse/ punishment of sin for us—-for it is written—–”cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”.

Jesus hung on a wooden cross—cursed as though he sinned–because he took on himself—-our sins.
