Hell is a Real Place

Hell is a Real Place

Matthew 25:41 “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:”

The Lake of Fire (Hell) was made for the devil (Satan) (Lucifer)
who had been a high angel in heaven.

He went against God and wanted to be equal to the Most High himself.
He was able to get 1/3 of the angels to come to his side and go against God.

God threw them all out of heaven. Satan only still roams around.

They are chained far below the earth.

Jude vs. 6 “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”

(These angels —their “first estate” was heaven where they first lived. They left their “habitation”—place where they were living.

They are “reserved” (kept) in everlasting chains—-in darkness—until the great judgment day.)

Then—they will be put into the Lake of Fire and Satan will be put there, too.

Right now, Satan has been allowed to roam the earth and the air right above the earth.

In these verses in Matthew, Jesus is telling how things will be —when He judges all people some day.

He said it will be like a shepherd who has both sheep and goats together in a flock. Then one day, he separates them. The goats on the left, and the sheep on the right.

The “goats” represent the people who do not believe in Jesus—-and the “sheep” are those who do believe in Jesus.

The sheep go to a place that has been prepared for them—a good place. The goats go to everlasting fire.

Matthew 24:31- “When the Son of Man (Jesus) shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

And before him shall be gathered all the nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Vs. 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand,
Depart (go away) from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Vs. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

The Lake of Fire was made for the devil and his angels—–but the people—-who did not believe in Jesus—and did not ask Him for forgiveness—-will go there, too.

In Luke 16 Jesus tells a story about a rich man who goes to hell.

Jesus told many “parables”—not a real happening—but a story to teach a lesson.

In all the other parables that Jesus told—-he never used the names of the person. In this story—he names them.
Bible teachers believe that this is a true story.

It fits with what Jesus taught about heaven and hell in his sermons.

Luke 16:22-31 “…the rich man also died, and was buried; and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments,…” —-”send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; “for I am tormented in this flame.”

Hell had flames. The man was in pain and torment.

These flames and burning and pain go on forever and ever.

Can you imagine being in a flame that burns and never stops —for thousands and thousands of years—never ending ever???

Matthew 13:49-50 “So shall it be at the end of the world,—the angels shall come forth,—-and sever (cut off) the wicked—from the just (righteous), and cast (throw) them into the furnace of fire; where there shall be wailing (loud crying) and gnashing (grinding) of teeth.”

Revelation 14:10-11 “The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God,—which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation (anger); —-and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone (sulfur like from a volcano) in the presence of the Lamb: the smoke of their torment ascendeth up (goes up) forever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night……”

Matthew 22:1-13 Jesus is telling a story—”The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king…..when the king came in to see his guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment—–the king said, Bind ( tie) him and take him away, cast (throw) him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing (grinding) of teeth.”

Revelation 21:8 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable (very bad sin) , and murders, and whoremongers (sexual sins), and sorcerers (witchcraft), and idolaters ( worship of idols), and all liars, shall have their place in the lake of fire which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

(The “second death” means eternal “death”. The “first death” is when our body dies. Our soul goes to heaven or hell. Souls that go to heaven have eternal life—-souls that go to hell—it will be eternal death—or “second death”.)

Revelation 20: 15 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast (thrown) into the lake of fire.”

Jesus was very clear about there being a hell and a Lake of Fire.

He talked about it many times. He told stories to make sure the people understood about it.

In I John 5:11-13 “…. God hath given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

He that hath the Son—hath life; and he that hath not the Son—hath not life.

These things have I written unto you — that believe on the name of the Son of God —that ye (you) may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

No one has to go to hell.

We can have eternal life by believing in the Son of God—Jesus.
He is the one who paid for our sin punishment for us—-by dying on the cross.

He is the one we must come to for forgiveness.

Jesus said, “No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 14:6
