II Corinthians Chp 6 Vs. 1-18
Vs. 1 We–(Paul and this group of believers)—we are workers together with him (God).
(In this chapter—Paul lists the many troubles that he has had to go through as he traveled around preaching the gospel.
There were other men who had become followers of Christ and traveled around to preach—but some of them were not preaching the truth.
Some of them we preaching and hoped to get big offerings of money. Some of them preached things that made the people feel good but was not really the truth from the Bible.
Paul wrote to these groups of believers that he had first preached to.
He tried to explain to them, how those traveling preachers were not preaching the truth.
He tried to show them that he and the men with him—-had suffered much—as they traveled—-and they did it—-not to get money—-but out of love for the people and obeying God.
Vs. 2 For he (God) says: “ I have heard of thee (you).
In a time accepted—-or at the right time.
5494. In the day of s________________. I have succoured (helped) you.
5495. Now is the day of s_________________.”
Vs. 3 Paul said—we have done our ministry—- carefully —in a way that we did not give offence—meaning—to cause anger, or hurt, or disappointment—to people because of how they lived.
5496. So that their m_______________ would not be blamed.
Vs. 4 In all things, we tried to prove that we were true and honest ministers of the gospel.
5497. We showed p__________________,——-even when we were afflicted (hurt, criticized, etc.).
We were sometimes in need of things. We were in distress—-under hard times and had to endure hard things.
5498. Vs. 5 In stri_______ —-they were beaten with whips and rods.
In prison,
in tumults—weather storms, angry crowds,

in watching and waiting—-
in fasting—-going without food.
5499. Vs. 6 By pu_____________—-our reason for preaching was pure intention to bring the gospel.

Vs. 9 As unknown—-yet we were well-known. As dying, and yet we lived.
We were chastened (punished)—- yet we were not killed.
5508. Vs. 10 We were often sor_____________________, yet we always rej_________________.
5509. We were p________ and —–yet we make others rich (by giving them the gospel of Jesus).
Vs. 11 O Corinthians, our mouth (heart) is open to you—our heart is made bigger toward you.
Vs. 12 (This verse means)—you have pulled yourselves back from us —-put up a block between us—-yet that is not how we feel toward you—-we are open toward you.
Vs. 13 Paul said—I speak to you as if you were my children.
5510. Vs. 14 Do not be _________________ yoked (joined together —(like 2 oxen are joined together with a yoke) (Paul is speaking of marriage.)—-to un_____________________.
(Paul spoke about this in other letters he wrote. He told the believers—-do not marry an unbeliever.
If a man and woman do not agree on the most important thing of eternal life and God—-it will not be a good marriage—-and the children they will have —will be confused as to which way to believe.)
Vs 15 What agreement does Christ have with Belial (an idol)?
What does a believer have in common with an infidel—unbeliever?
5511. Vs. 16 What agreement does the temple of God have with idols?
You are the t_______________ of God—-the living God.
God said: “ I will dwell (live) with them, and walk with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
5512. “Wherefore, come out from among them, and be ye sep___________, says the Lord,
and touch not the un__________ thing; and I will receive you.”
