II Corinthians Chp 3 Vs. 1-18
5454. Vs. 1 Paul asks this group of believers—Do we need to have l_____________ to commend ( prove who we are, or to say we are honest).
5455. Vs. 2 You (people) are our “epistle” (letter) that shows what we are—your lives prove we have preached the truth.
Other people see your lives and they “read” your lives and how you have changed.
Vs. 3 You are an “epistle” (letter) written not with i_____ but with the s__________________ of the living God.
Not a fable–(made-up) story, but a in flesh of the heart.
5456. Vs. 4,5 We do not think that we are enough —in our own strength. Our strength comes from ____________.
5457. Vs. 6 He (God) is the one who made us able to be m__________________ of the new testament.
Not just in words, but by the s________________ that gives life.
5458. Vs. 7 The 10 commandments—written in stone was a wonderful thing. But the laws it required —showed how far people missed the mark—it showed how much they sinned.
It was like a “death” shadow over them.
How could they live up to it?
Moses’ face was so full of glory—it was shining. The people could not look at his face. (He had to cover his face with a veil.)
Vs. 8 Is not the ministry of the s_____________ more glorious and wonderful—(than those laws)?
5459. Vs. 9 If the 10 Commandments—that showed their sin—was a glorious thing—-how much more is the ministry that shows

Vs. 13 We do not speak as Moses did —-with a veil over his face—–so that the people could not see his face—and those laws came to an end—with Christ’s coming.

(Now we understand the purpose of the laws of the Old Testament—-they were to lead us to God and His righteousness.)
(The laws of the lamb sacrifices—we now understand— Christ has become the “sacrifice” for us—He paid our death punishment for sin—-in the Old Testament—the lamb paid the death punishment for sin.)
5462. Vs. 15 But to this day—the Jews read the books of Moses and they still do not understand—they still have a v__________ over their minds.
5463. Vs. 16 Those who turn to the Lord—-the v________ is taken away—and they understand.

(We are no longer bound (tied up) to the Old Testament laws of sacrifice—-we have freedom because Christ paid the debt of death for us.)
