I Corinthians Chp 16 Vs. 1-24

5423. Vs. 1 Paul talks to the believers in Corinth. He talks about the collection or offering of money—-that various church groups are sending to Jerusalem —-to help the believers in Jerusalem.

A famine–a time of little or no food—-has been going on in Jerusalem and the believers are having a hard time.

As Paul has traveled from city to city—-the churches have been giving offerings to take to Jerusalem.

Vs. 2 Paul says that it would be good if they would —-on the _______________ day of the _____________ ——give some money —-and leaders keep it to save for the offering to be sent to Jerusalem.

5424. They are to give according to what God has _________________ them. (Meaning—if they earn a lot of money—they should give more—and if they earn little—their offering will be smaller.)

Vs. 3 Paul said, Whoever you choose to take this offering to Jerusalem, that is the person who will go to Jerusalem.

Vs. 4 Paul said, That if things work out that he (Paul) can go to
Jerusalem —-then that person they chose can go with Paul.

5425. Vs. 5 Paul said –When he travels through __________________—– Vs. 6 I may stay and I may stay through the _______________.

Then they can sent him on his way to the next place.

Vs. 7 Paul said, He would not see them now. But he hopes to stay with them later if the Lord allows it.

5427. Vs. 9 (Here in Ephesus) there was a “door” open—-meaning opportunity—-to preach to many people—–but there were also

Vs. 11 No one should look down on Timothy and not show him respect. Paul was looking forward to seeing Timothy again.

Paul uses the word “addicted” (in KJV version) meaning that Stephen just can’t stop telling other about Jesus.

Vs. 16 Paul tells them—You, too, should do the same.

Vs. 17 -20 Paul speaks of other believers and the work they have done. He sends greetings.

Vs. 21 Paul signs the letter with his own hand.
(Bible teachers think this is because Paul has trouble with his eyes and he has not been able to write the letter himself. Someone else wrote what Paul wanted to say and at the end Paul signed it himself.)

5432. Vs. 22 Paul ends by saying—If any man ______________ _______________ the Lord Jesus Christ,

let him be ____________________. (Meaning—let him be cursed.)
