Prophecy #2

God told Abraham (Genesis 18:18)—-that all the world would be blessed through Abraham.

How would Abraham’s future family bless the whole world?

The scriptures (Bible) were written by Abraham’s family.

Moses wrote the first 5 books of the Bible.

Other Jewish men—part of Abraham’s family line—-wrote the other books of the Bible.

The scriptures tell us about the one true God in heaven.

The scriptures tell us how to have a relationship with God and to obey his commands.

The scriptures tell us about Jesus—and how we can have our sins forgiven and be able to live in heaven forever.

The most important way that Abraham’s family blessed the world—-was the birth of Jesus.

Jesus was part of Abraham’s family line.

Abraham, his son-Isaac,–his son, Jacob,—his son, Judah—-many sons later—Mary, the mother of Jesus was of Judah’s line.

Joseph, Jesus’ earthly father was also of Judah’s line—-but Joseph was not a blood relative to Jesus. Joseph did not make the baby in Mary.

The angel told Mary that the Holy Spirit would come over her and would created a baby in her. God was the father—not Joseph.

Jesus has given a “blessing” to the whole world—-by offering them forgiveness of sins—”salvation” from the death punishment because of sin.

Prophecy #3

Jesus would be born into tribe (family group) of Judah.

Genesis 49:8-10 “….the sceptre (the short rod that a king holds)
shall not depart from Judah…”

The tribe of Judah—-would have a king that would be a forever king.

He would be born of the family of Abraham—-Genesis 17:7

He would come from the family of Jesse, King David’s father—
Isaiah Chp. 11

He is called The Branch. It speaks of his wisdom. He will judge with righteousness.

It speaks of the wolf and lamb will lie down together—the lamb not afraid of the wolf.
The lion will eat straw (grass) like an ox.

These are things that will happen when Jesus rules over the whole earth as king. Jesus will return to earth again and rule over the whole earth as king for 1,000 years. After that this earth will pass away and a new heaven and new earth will be created.

Those who have gone to heaven to be with Jesus—will be with him during the 1,000 years and will continue to be with him forever.

Only the first part of this has been fulfilled—Jesus being born into the family of Jesse.

The later part will be fulfilled some day in the future.

Jesus would come from David’s line—Isaiah 9:7 6, 7

“…a son is born…..the government shall be upon his shoulders…..of his government there shall be no end—upon the throne of David,,,

Wonderful
Counselor
The Mighty God
The Everlasting Father
The Prince of Peace

Prophecy #4

He would be born of a virgin–a woman who has not had sex with a man.

Isaiah 7:13, 14 “……the Lord will give you a sign: The virgin shall be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel (means “God with us”).
