I Corinthians      Chp 11    Vs 17-34

5311. Verse 17 Paul said in this verse, “I praise you
_______.” Paul is talking to them about what they have been doing that is wrong.

5312. Verse 18 Paul said that he heard that when they come together for meetings—that they are ___________________ among them.

5313. Verse 19 Paul said there are _____________ (teachings that are not true or right——or actions that are wrong).

5314. Verse 20 -21 The people were gathering together to eat the “Lord’s Supper”—today we call it Communion.

But what were the people doing that was not right?

5315. Verse 22 Paul said, “Don’t you have houses to
________ and _____________ in? Or do you not like the church? Do you want to shame those who __________ ____________?

Paul said, I do not praise you for this.

5316. Verse 23 Paul talks about the real Lord’s Supper when Jesus was with them.

What Paul says next—are words many preachers quote when they do the Communion service in churches today.

Verses 23-26
That the Lord Jesus the _____________ ____________ in which he was ______________________, took _______________.

And when he had given _______________,
he __________________ it, and said, Take ___________, this is my _______________ which is broken for you: this do, in
__________________________ of me.

After the same manner (way), he took the ____________,
when he had ________________ (drank), saying This cup is the

This do ye, as oft (often) as ye drink it, in

For as often as ye eat this _________________ and drink this

(Meaning—-as often as we eat the bread and drink the cup of wine (grape juice) we are remembering the Lord’ death on the cross for us. ——And we are to do it until he comes again in the clouds.)

5317. Verse 27 (A warning) Who ever shall eat this
___________________ and drink this ______________ and is not w_____________________——shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

(Meaning—-whoever takes part in the Communion of the bread and cup—-but does not have a right spirit about it, or does it without respect and honor, —–will be guilty of dishonoring Jesus.

Many pastors say, a person needs to be a believer in Jesus and has forgiveness of his sins—or he should not take of the bread and cup.)

Verse 30 Paul warns— many who have eaten the bread and did drink the cup —-and did not have respect and honor—-have suffered—-they are weak, some are sick, some have died (sleep).

5318. Verse 31 Paul said We should _______________ ourselves—-then we will not be judged by God.

Verse 32 When we are judged (for wrong doing)—it is the Lord who is chastening (punishing) us—-so that we will not be condemned (blamed) with those of world who do not believe.

Verse 33 When you come together—for the Lord’s supper—wait for each other—-do it together.

5319. Verse 34 If you are hungry—eat at __________________

(The “Lord’s Supper” was a time of remembering what Jesus did for us. It was not to be a full meal —-it was bread and wine (or grape juice) as a symbol of remembering.)

Then Paul said—that there were other things he would talk to them about when he came to see them.
