(They did not see and understand that the reason God counted Abraham as “righteous” was because of Abraham’s faith.

The family members after Abraham —got off on the wrong idea that “righteousness” would be by how good they were—and that they were “God’s people” because of Abraham.)

Before the law was given—-the Jewish/Hebrew people —lived by their own idea of what was right or wrong.

Now they had a guide —the law—to show them what was right.

The Hebrew/Jewish people got away from the idea that they needed “faith” in God, they needed a “relationship” with God—-they began to think that just obeying the 10 commandments was all that was needed.

Moses told the people in Deuteronomy 6: 5 that they were to love the Lord with all their heart, soul and mind.

That means all your thoughts and desires are toward God.
It is a relationship—with God.

Everything you do is to please Him and bring glory to Him.

It is from your heart in love that you obey God. It is not just a duty of work to keep the commandments.)

4994. Vs. 5 Moses told them the commandments–the law.
Man should obey them.

4998. Vs. 12 There is no difference between the ____________ and the ___________________ for the same Lord is over all. He is rich unto all who call upon him.

(The Jews did not like the Gentiles. They called them “dogs”.
They thought they were awful people because they worshipped idols. The Jews worshipped the true God of heaven—and they thought they were better and righteous.

Paul is telling them that this idea of theirs is not right. God will save all—everyone—who calls on his Son’s name—Jesus.

Jesus died to pay the sin death punishment for every person.)

This will make you Hebrews/Jews angry that I have called others to be my people.
