Acts Chapter 5 Vs. 1-16

Vs. 4 It was the man’s right to keep all the money, or give part of the money. But it seems from what we read, that the man lied about the money. He wanted the disciples to think he was giving all the money from the sale of the land.

It must have been the man’s pride—that he wanted to be seen as “generous”—so he let them think he gave all the money.

Because of this “lie” and pride—-Peter told him—you lied not just to men but before God. God will punish you for this.
