St. John 18 Vs. 15-27

3940. Verse 15 Who? ________________ ______________ followed Jesus. And another disciple. (many Bible teachers think this was John) also followed. This disciple knew the (who?)___________ ____________________. He went with Jesus to the house of this Jewish leader.

3941. Verse 16 John went into the house—or it may have been a courtyard (like a patio area) with a gate. Then he came back to the door, and spoke to the girl servant by the door and told her to let in who? ______ ________________

3943. Verse 18, 19 It seems the men are in a courtyard. It is cold and they have a fire pit going. Peter stood with the men.

The high priest is asking Jesus questions. He asked Jesus about his disciples and what he taught.

3948. There were 2 high priest during this time. The Romans ruled over the Jews. The Romans chose a man to be the high priest—it was Caiaphas.

The Jewish people had their own rules about who should be the high priest and that person was Annas.

The Jewish had more respect for Annas because he was the “true” high priest as far as the Jews thought.

Caiaphas was a son-in-law of Annas, and since the Romans chose him—he had power over the Jews.

After Annas questioned Jesus, Annas then sent Jesus to Caiaphas.

Vs. 25 As Peter was standing with the men, one of the men asked him if he was a disciple of Jesus. What did Peter answer?
