4. Joseph was sold as a slave. A captain of the guard, of the king of Egypt—the captain’s name was ______________________ He bought Joseph. Genesis 39:1

The king of Egypt saw how good Joseph was. He took him and made him a ruler next to the king.

5. The people of Israel went to live in Egypt so they could have food.

After many years, another king came to rule. He made all the people of Israel to be his slaves.

The king made a rule. All Hebrew boy babies are to be killed. But one mother hid her baby boy and did not kill him. She made a basket and put the baby in it, and took it down near the river.

The king’s daughter found the baby and wanted to keep it.
