Steps of Faith for the Deaf    101518

Hello,

There are some battles that we do not have to fight.

We often pray for God to fix a problem for us. And then we try to make things happen to fix it by ourselves.

In II Chronicles 20:15, 17 20, 21, 22 The prophet/preacher told the king:

This is what the Lord says to you;

Do not be afraid.

Do not be dismayed (sad, discouraged) because of this large group of soldiers coming, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

“You will not need to fight in this battle;

set yourselves (get into your places) ,

stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you,

Fear not, do not be dismayed.

Tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord will be with you.

“Believe in the Lord your God, so shall you be established (meaning successful)

Believe his prophets, so shall you prosper (succeed).

The king appointed singers unto the Lord, that they should praise the beauty of God’s holiness The singers marched before the army.

And when they began to sing, and to praise, the Lord set ambushments (surprise attacks) against the enemy (the army of Ammon) and the were smitten (defeated, killed).

(The Bible does not say who or what made the surprise attacks on the enemy, but the Lord made something to attack them and Israel did not have to fight them. In the past, God used hornets (bees), fog, hail, etc. against the enemy to help Israel.)

God has many ideas of things and ways to fix our problems. Just as God helped the people of Israel long ago, God can help you.

Did you notice that when the people started singing and praising God, God began to move to help them? Maybe that is the secret. Begin praising God for his goodness and for his help and God will begin to move to help you.

Good-bye for now.  I’ll write again.         Sincerely, Joyce Webb
