Mark Chp. 2

Jesus is trying to tell the Jewish leaders that the things Jesus is saying and preaching is a new teaching. This new teaching will not fit into old ways of thinking.

Jesus’ new teaching will not fit into the old laws and rules.

Jesus’ was teaching that people can be forgiven of their sin not by bringing an animal to kill for an offering but that Jesus was to die for their sin.

Jesus had other teachings about our heart mind attitudes that we need to keep clean before the Lord. Our worship of God was not by bringing offerings of animals to the priests. Our worship of God would now be from our hearts and minds to God himself and it can happen anywhere.

2373. Vs. 23-28 Jesus and his disciples were walking a long way on the Sabbath day. (The Sabbath day was the 7th day of the week. It was the day that the Jews worshipped. As Christians we worship on Sunday—-the 1st day of the week.)
