2010. Because believing in Jesus will make people be angry with others. Some will believe and some will not. Those who will not believe will be against those who do. Those who do not believe will try to hurt those who do believe—–even in families.
Vs. 37 Jesus said, He that loves ___________________________ or ___________________________ more than he loves me—-is not worthy of me.
He speaks of each member of the family. We must love Jesus more than any other.
2011. Vs. 38 We must take up our ___________________ and follow Jesus. If we do not , we are not worthy of Jesus. Our “cross” will not be a wooden one like Jesus died on. But it will be something that is hard for us to do or put up with.
We know from history that all of the disciples except John were killed for preaching about Jesus. That was their “cross”.
Missionaries have died preaching the gospel. People have been put in jail for saying they were believers in Jesus.
In America, we have had freedom to believe the way we want. But the time may come, when we will have to suffer for Jesus, too.
2012. Vs.39 Jesus told them that pleasing people here on earth in order to save your life—-you will lose your soul. But if stay true to Jesus you may lose your life —but you will ______________________________________.
2013. Vs. 40 The person that accepts or receive you (disciple) —- is receiving Jesus. But if they will not receive the disciple or believer—then they are not receiving ______________________either.
