1096. They were to stay with this person the whole time they were in the town. If the people in the house were not “worthy” then they were to ___________________.

(In other words, they were to find a family of believers who would want to help the disciple and feed him and provide what he needed. But if after being their awhile the disciple saw that the people really did not want him there, or did not provide for him —-then he was to leave that house and move on.

If the people in the house helped and provided for the disciples—-the disciple was to give God’s blessing on the house. But if they did not treat him right, the disciple was to leave and not give God’s blessing on the house.

Vs. 15 The same for the town. If the town received him, then he was to stay and preach and pray God’s blessing on them. But if the town did not receive him, he was to leave the city and not think about it again. “Shake it off and move on.”

1097. Vs. 16 Jesus said that the disciples would be like a ______________ in the middle of __________________________. But they were to be as wise as a ____________________ but do not harm like a ________________________.

Jesus was warning them that people would not be willing to hear what they had to say. And the people might even try to hurt them.
