Daniel
Judah —-the kingdom with 2 of the tribes. Israel with 10 of the tribes. Judah stayed more faithful to God for a longer time. But then they began to be as bad as the tribes of Israel. God warned them many times to change their ways or he would let another nation come in a take them over. But they did not change.
Nebuchadnezzar was the king of Babylon. (Babylon is in the country of modern day Iraq.)
He was a powerful king. His kingdom was very, very large. He ruled land much , much bigger than Iraq is. He had won over many lands and now ruled them. He has come to Judah and won over them. He took all the gold from the temple. He took people. He took young men who were smart and educated. He took the young men of the Judah’s king’s family. He took them back to Babylon to work for him.
Nebuchadnezzar put them in a special house. He fed them good food and took care of them. He wanted them to be good and strong to work for him.

(We do not know why Daniel did not want to eat the king’s meat. It could be that the meat was offered to idols first before it was cooked. And maybe Daniel did not want to be part of meat offered to idols. Maybe the meat was pork/pig meat and the Jews were not allowed to eat pork.)

913. Daniel 2: 38 Who is the head of gold? _______________________________
Daniel 2:39 The Babylonian kingdom was very great. Nebuchadnezzar was the head of gold.
Next, was the silver chest and arms: we know from history books that the Medes and Persians came and won over the Babylonians and Nebuchadnezzar’s son, who was the next king.
Next, was the Greek empire the brass/bronze belly and upper legs. The Greek empire was ruled by Alexander the Great. It was a very large empire.
Next, was the Roman empire iron legs. The Romans ruled many lands.
All of these kingdoms Babylon, Greek, Roman they were all very large. They ruled over most of the known world of that time.
The next kingdom of feet and 10 toes of iron and clay has not yet happened.
This kingdom will be very large also. It will rule over most all of the people of the world——just like the other ones did.
This kingdom will be made of 10 nations (10 toes) the mix of iron and clay that does not hold together shows that the kingdom will not last very long.
This kingdom is talked about in Revelation. There will be 10 nations who will join together to be one kingdom or united nation.
We know that the nations of Europe have been working on this for many years. Many of them have joined together to form a united group of Europe. They have voted to use the same kind of money. A few years ago, the nations stopped using their own money and they all agreed to use the same kind of money. So that no matter where you travel in Europe today you use the same kind of money the Euro.
This united Europe may happen in a few years.
10 of the nations will decide to stay together. They will choose a leader.
This one leader will rule over all 10 nations. He will be so powerful that he will have influence over the whole world. Nations not belonging to the 10 nation group will have to do some of the things this powerful leader says.
In Nebuchadnezzar’s dream a stone (not made with hands) comes like a surprise and it hits the statue and breaks it down.
We know from Revelation that this “stone” is Jesus. He will come back to earth suddenly a surprise and he comes and stops this one world leader. He breaks his kingdom apart. Jesus begins to rule over all the earth as king.
