Who were these horses and chariots of fire? ___________________________________

Verse 16 This would be a good verse to remember. God often protects us —-even though we can not see it.

811. Elisha prayed that the soldiers would be ____________________________.

(As the story goes on, you will see that they were not blind in a way that they could not see at all. But they were Blind in the sense that they did not understand where they were or who Elisha was or what was happening. In other words, God made them confused.)

812. The soldiers talked with Elsiha. But since they were confused, Elisha was able to hide who he was, and he told them they needed to go to another city to find the person they were looking for. So he led them to Samaria where the King of Israel was. When the King saw the soldiers, he wanted to kill them.

Elisha said “Would you kill men you had captured in battle?” They are captives. Why kill them? So the King did what? ____________________. Then he sent them back to their King. 813. Later the King of Syria came to Samaria again. This time he put soldiers all around

Of course, there is no sense to that because the King of Syria will just come into the city and kill everyone and take over the city.

Since Israel is not strong enough to win, they better stay in the city. Some of them will stay alive.

The King of Israel is very angry and he is blaming all this troubles on God and on God’s prophet Elisha. He wants to kill Elisha. So he sent a servant to find Elisha.

God warned Elisha. He is in his house having a meeting with some of the city’s leaders.

He told them that a man will come to the house but he will try to kill me. When he comes do not let him in.

In these two chapters we see several ways that God worked to help his people.

Iron to float. Angels as soldiers in chariots to fight. Making the enemy to become confused so they are not understanding what is happening—-until it is over. And God making problems for the enemy soldiers so they leave Israel and go home—leaving everything behind—-supplies Israel needs.

God never changes. He is still the same today. He will watch out for us.
