Chapter 5
Verses 1-10 Read the Bible verses.
The One who sits on the throne had in his hand a book. He said, “Who is worthy to open this book and break its seals?” (Seals are small spots of wax or something that holds the pages together.)
John began to weep (cry) because there seemed to be no one who could open the book.
Then one of the elders said, “ Stop crying. The Lion from the tribe of Judah has overcome and he can open the book with the 7 seals.” The Lion of the tribe of Judah is Jesus. And Jesus did overcome.
Jesus came and opened the book.
When he took the book, the 4 creatures and the 24 elders bowed before the Lamb (Jesus).
Each creature had a harp and golden bowls of incense—which are the prayers of the saints (people who are believers). These were flat bowls or fire pans used by the priests to present incense before the Lord.
The creatures sang a new song.
Verses 11- 14 Read the Bible verses.
John heard the voice of many angels. There were thousands and thousands of angels. They sang to the Lamb of God (Jesus).
The 4 creatures also sang to the Lamb of God.
