312. The next several chapters talk about the tent-church called the tabernacle. Moses is to make a church that can be moved as they travel. You can read about it. I will tell about it here in a few simple lines:

The walls were made of separate boards. The boards were to be covered with gold. They would be set on the ends. They would be held together by using rods through circle loops.

The ceiling was to be a woven cover. Strips of cloth were sewn together to make it big enough. The cover would be long enough to hang down over the walls on the outside.

The 1st cover was to be woven of blue, purple and red thread. Cherubim (a kind of angel) were to be in the design. When a person looked up they would see the cherubim.

The 2nd cover was to be white animal skins.

The 3rd cover was to be red dyed animal skins.

The top and outside was to be dark colored animal skins.

When a person looked at the tabernacle from the outside---it was not pretty.  There was nothing about it that would make you want to see what was inside.

But the inside was beautiful!  The Cherubim was woven on the ceiling and walls.

People look at Jesus and they do not know why people are so interested in Him  People who have been saved from their sin know the beauty of what is inside. The outside cover is dark and ugly like our sin.

The next cover is red like the blood of the animal sacrifices and later the blood of Jesus.

The next cover is white--after the blood covers our sin we are white and clean.

The next cover is woven with angels and it is blue and purple and red---the blue and purple for heaven.  The gold walls are like the gold in heaven.

Aaron was to be the high priest.  His sons after him were to be the high priests.  They were to wear a white robe and over it was a special top cover of blue, purple, and red.

He wore a special head cover.  He wore a special square cover over his chest that had 12 gem stones in it. Each stone was for one of the 12 tribes of Israel.

The other regular priests and church helpers wore white robes.

313. Exo. 40: 34 -38  After the tabernacle was finished,   what happened?____________________________________________________________________________________________

314. How were the people of Israel led on their way across the land? __________________________________________
