God had promised all this land to Abraham. Genesis 17:8 God has allowed the people in this land to keep living here. It has been hundreds of years. The people have been worshipping idols and doing the most sinful things all those years. None of them turned to God, none of them stopped sinning. God’s patience with them is over. God had said that they would be able to live there until He decided their time was done. Genesis 15:16 God will now give the land to the people of Israel who worship the true God.

438. Here is a verse to remember. It comes near the end of the book of Joshua. The land has been divided and a part given to each tribe---except the Levites. The Levites were to be the priests. They were to receive the tithes (one-tenth) of the people’s earnings as their part.
