Jesus as King of the World for 1000 Years (Millennium)

At the end of time, Jesus will return to the earth again. He will come to save the nation of Israel. There will be nations who will come against Israel to destroy it. Jesus will come Himself in person down to earth. He will destroy the armies coming against Israel. He will stay on earth for 1000 years to rule as the King of the world. He will rule from Jerusalem.

H e will rule over the whole world. For 1000 years there will be peace on earth. Every nation's leader will obey Jesus the King. All the people of the world will obey Jesus.

During this 1000 years Satan will be tied up in chains in the lower parts of the earth to wait. His evil angels will be with him. He is not in the lake of fire yet. That will be later.

For 1000 years Satan will not be here to tempt people to sin.

During these 1000 years, there will be changes in the animal world. The wild nature of animals will be changed. The animals will be tame. They will not eat meat. So that means they will not kill other animals or kill people.

After this 1000 years is done, Satan will be allowed to be free again for a time. We do not know for how long a time. The Bible does not say.

During the time that he is free again, he will try to get people to sin and rebel against Jesus.

He will stir up the leaders of nations to come against Israel to destroy it. They will plan a war to come against Israel. That will be the last war. Jesus will destroy all of them.

This will be the end of this time on earth.

At this time Jesus will judge all the people of the world. He will judge all those who have already died, and all those living.

(The only people who will not be judged at this time will be Christian believers who lived before the rapture. The Christian believers will have already gone to heaven in the rapture--both the dead in Christ and the living. They have already been judged---not for sins, because they are believers and their sins have been forgiven. They will be judged for the works they did as believers.)

Satan and his angels will be thrown into the lake of fire forever.

The people who have lived after the rapture will be judged. Those who have believed in Jesus will stay with Jesus. Those who did not believe in Jesus will go with Satan to the lake of fire forever.

Then a new heaven and a new earth will be made. This earth is will no more. Mark 13:31,32

There are more verses in other places in the Bible, too.

Jesus will be the King of the new heaven and earth. There will be no sun, because Jesus Himself will be the light.

There is not much information about this new heaven and new earth. We know that we will be with Jesus forever. Whatever He has planned for us will be good. Whatever we will be doing will be good.
